Wayne is the senior partner for the Carmello-Harper Group. He has worked for the past 20 years in leading nonprofit organizations, implementing organizational and strategic plans, providing effective standards for boards and internal operations, and securing millions of dollars in charitable assets in current and deferred gifts. Wayne’s experience ranges from managing AARP’s national cadre of 33,000 volunteer tax advisors to transitioning a public hospital into a vibrant community foundation.

Wayne has a track record of academic training and real-world experience. Since earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in theology, he has completed the National Planned Giving Institute at the College of William and Mary and the Executive Leadership in Philanthropy program at Stanford University School of Business. Wayne merges theory with praxis which enables clients to truly align their future objectives with concrete and achievable benchmarks. This eliminates the loss of both valuable time and needed resources expended on predictable organizational and development drift experienced by most foundations and nonprofit organizations.

Wayne is a member of the National Planned Giving Council and a board member of the Alabama Planned Giving Council. He is past president of Alabama Giving, a statewide association of private and public foundations. Wayne presents estate and gift planning continuing legal education seminars accredited by the Alabama Bar Association and offered through the Nonprofit Resource Center of Alabama. He serves on several regional and statewide charitable and civic initiatives from the Alabama governor’s Pre-K Council to the Alabama Rural Action Commission.
